Why We Can't Avoid Windows 10 Forever

I use a script to edit the registry of my clients' computers to disable this. I've had clients lose entire hard drives worth of data because the computer shut off and corrupted itself during an unscheduled install. How this is still a thing I don't know. There's going to have to be a lawsuit eventually.Exactly. I've run into weird things too where it will set every single file to read only...upgrading to it has only caused me problems. From a fresh install, and with the right tweaks, it's convenient for most end users. The fact is though, Windows 10 cannot possibly account for all of the thousands of different configurations and variables from each computer.

I had done some registry magic to end the update/reboot nag on Windows 7 well before Win10 came out and never got the upgrade nag. eventually I did install windows 10 for sheer curiousity but I did take a disk clone before doing so, incase I ever want to go back. and sometimes I really do.It's like the worst support reply and a support joke of the 90's somehow became an official troubleshooting advice from the company. It's ridiculous! Back in 90's we suggested users to reinstall windows in case of any minor problem to make the user busy with troubleshooting that instead of bothering us and thus bothering ms or geek squad. Nowadays initially broken system integration of vital os component is fixed by reinstall. It's like MS genuinely says fuck you to you.

We ramped up hiring. In no time I had over 100 people on staff. Project managers, network engineers like I was becoming, account folks, etc. We realized that logistically, we really needed folks in our Dallas facility where the main inventory was kept. So I flew out there and hired another 100 or so folks over a marathon trip.Anyway, they burned through all of their VC and went out of business for a brief period. Shortly after I find a new job, they get bought out by a company in Oregon that is working on the same thing named Orisys or something like that. Anyway, a few of the top guys keep their old jobs, but most everyone else got the ax. But we had our stock options!

To the pain. It means the first thing they will lose will be their feet below the ankles. Then their hands at the wrists. Next their nose. The next thing they will lose will be their left eye followed by their right. Their ears you keep and I’ll tell you why. So that every shriek of every child at seeing their hideousness will be theirs to cherish. Every babe that weeps at their approach, every woman who cries out, “Dear God! What is that thing,” will echo in their perfect ears. That is what to the pain means. It means I leave them in anguish, wallowing in freakish misery forever.

Mom of 'Affluenza' Teen Ethan Couch Indicted for Helping Son Escape to Mexico

Just think about the relationship with reality this lady has, that she thought her son would be in LESS TROUBLE by running to Mexico than facing the likely paltry repercussions of a probation violation. Yeah, don't worry that you are carrying $30k around in a country whose crime rate you can't even fathom, where dozens of people at a time will go missing for seeing something someone didn't want them to see, where the police are afraid of the drug gangs, and where most of the other people who have gone there to hide have been dragged back to the US one way or another anyways.

Definitely agree with your second line there. If ignorance is not an excuse to a law, then why the fuck is that a reasonable defense. That kid would have done the exact same thing even if they had been dirt poor. They were sociopathic parents who raised a sociopathic kid. The amount of abuse and violence going on in the family was staggering. Without the money, they would have been just another poor white trash family and the judge would have thrown the book at the kid the first time around.Seriously. I've been to many places around Mexico and never felt unsafe. Granted, they were touristy spots, but I'm also not one to travel to 'sketchy parts'. Same way I wouldn't drive around sketchy parts of Oakland or Detroit.

People also have a warped view of cities in the US. Crime as a whole has been decreasing for quite a long time. Where I'm at in LA there were 1,092 homicides in 1992 and in 2014 that is down to 260. You just never hear about these type of statistics in the news. You might be exaggerating Mexico a little too much. Have you lived in the ghetto parts of the US I don't particularly feel safe in those areas nor am I sure I'd trust the cops either. I live in a ghetto area but I don't feel unsafe granted there are times when I do. And I have family that lives in South Central LA and let me tell you the things I've seen over there when I have visited them lead me too believe their policing is lacking or the county doesn't care about the not so touristy areas of LA.

My understanding was that when the judge was faced with a not-guilty verdict, he put together a very extreme probation clause, basically knowing that if the kid violated it, even by having just one drink, the kid was going to jail for a very long time.Ethan Couch appeared in adult court for the first time Monday, when a judge announced he is ordering the 19-year-old to serve four 180 day terms consecutively, one term for each of the four people who died in a 2013 drunken driving wreck involving the teen.It had more to do with precedent than anything else. A lot of kids get very lenient sentences on their first offense, especially if the results of the crime were unintentional like manslaughter. The fact that the defense used affluenza honestly just made things a million times worse for the kid by creating a huge media shitstorm, but I suppose it worked out since it put him under a microscope. Could've just dealt with the short probation but this is what happens when you think you're above other people.

Really cool puppet concept

Check out Strings. It's a film about marionettes who all have strings that go into the sky. They sword fight and stuff, and if one cuts anothers arm string say, then his arm goes limp. If you cut his center string it's fatal. It's pretty neat and interesting. I really like the landscape shots where you see the strings going into the sky. Cities are loaded with strings, while you might see some strings here and there throughout the landscape as "people" move about.Nice job man, that is one of the most fluid and realistic puppets i have ever seen in terms of movement.

See: Star Wars, E.T., Gremlins, Labyrinth, Alien, Aliens, Jurassic Park, The Thing, The Fly, The Terminator, The Predator, Jason and The Argonauts, Tremors, Hellboy, Robocop, Ghostbusters, Mars Attacks!, and (of course) Little Shop of Horrors.Serious question: How much of your day do you spend thinking about puppets? How to build them and what can be done with them?Someone recommended green screen, are you considering it? I think with all this exposure you can find someone around here willing to do post production work for you. Today must have been a bit overwhelming.
I'd buy a puppet from you. I think you should patent your design if you haven't already, and then license your design to companies such as Disney, whether for use in films or to be mass manufactured as merchandise for sale to the public. This seems to be the next level in puppetry.I'm gonna go ahead and agree with OP here, you're ridiculously talented, I think the Eskos stop motion film you've done deserves it's own reddit post tbh, but I'll leave that to someone else because I'm fairly certain if that were posted here that would blow up as well.Ever thought about making it into a business mass producing things like these. Idk if its even possible to do just would be an awesome toy idea for kids like 5-10, have two kids acting out fights and things like that.

Just checked out his channel. This guy is really, really good. I hope he can do something with it in the future (like bigger things such as collaborations!)So I actually grabbed a stopwatch and averaged together a few 1-minute stretches of subscriber counting and came out with a slightly pessimistic 30 subscribers per minute. At the current count of 8,450, it will only take 6.4 hours for the barnabydixon channel to reach 20k subscribers. The last time this happened we got the hydraulic press channel, and they now have over 1 million subscribers, from only around 50k in March, only two months ago!

What is the dumbest 100% serious thing someone has said to you?

I used to work at Best Buy and I had a customer (lady in her 30s) come in with her plasma television on the flat cart . She says "I need the a plasma refill " . So I give the ol customer service fake laugh because I thought it had to be a joke , but the look on her face and pissed tone showed that she was serious . I took her to the home theatre department and from a distance I can hear her going off about "plasma refill prices" or "shouldn't the warranty cover the plasma"?I was once making small talk with an acquaintance, and I told her I'd flown out to visit my family in Korea over the summer. She got this smug grin on her face and said, "You can't fly to Korea. It's an island."

Edit: it's definitely a stretch to say she was making a clever allusion to geopolitics or north korea. in fact, I'm not even sure if she knows there are two Koreas. no idea what she was trying to say.All I can imagine is that she got Korea confused with Japan, and then also had a mental lapse and mixed up flying with driving. One of those is forgivable, I guess?Years ago while working at a cafe a couple came up to me and asked if Saddam Hussein was Russian. The Iraq War had just begun so I snickered and said, "Of course not." The boyfriend turned to his girlfriend with a smug, victorious look and said, "See? I told you he was German."

Here in the UK we get a lot of American kid's shows, especially big ones like Spongbob, Animaniacs, etc. These shows normally have a 4th of July special about the Declaration (and War) of Independence. With that as the topic of conversation, this is genuinely a discussion I had with someone when we were 14.Me: "The Simpsons made a joke about that during (episode about the 4th of July I forget the name of)"Friend: "Yeah I watched that one. The British sound like dicks""it's really dangerous to take only half an ecstasy pill. Sometimes the pills aren't actually ecstasy, it's like 50% speed and 50% heroin. So if you only take half, you might accidentally take JUST the speed or JUST the heroin half, which makes it way more dangerous".

That was actually taught to my class during D.A.R.E. One half was supposedly the "balancing out" half, so taking even half could kill you. What they failed to realize is that they just told kids to take more drugs. "You aren't allowed to take just half; you have to take the whole thing."A drive-thru girl heard me speaking my language on the phone when I was waiting for my food and she kept saying it was cool that I was bilateral. I asked if she was referring to triangles or something but she said "No, bilateral like a person".One night I was working at tbell. This girl comes through the drive thru absoultly hammered. She was destroyed. She kept yelling at us to give her french fries. I just kept telling her that we do not sell french fries. Finally my manager comes over and gives her a side of the Fiesta potatoes and says that these are Mexican french fries. Almost cried I was laughing so hard.
